Detox is the long awaited, but currently unreleased "final" album by Dr. Dre. It is due for release sometime in 2006, but has no official release date as of June, 2006. The album was delayed as of early 2004 because of some changes and production duties on Ice Cube's comeback album, Laugh Now, Cry Later (2006). There have also been rumors that the famous producer had completed the album some time back but was not satisfied with it, and instead sold the beats to Aftermath Entertainment artist The Game. Dr. Dre wanted to concentrate on other artists such as The Game, Eve, Busta Rhymes and other numerous Aftermath Entertainment artists which is why at one point he said he would no longer be working on the fabled album any more, this has since changed and it is still in a speculated release date for sometime in 2006 or 2007, though no official release date has been announced yet.

There have been numerous references to the anticipated album on tracks by artists who work under Dr. Dre on Aftermath Entertainment. In the latter part of Eminem's 'Encore/Curtains Down' track featuring Dr. Dre and 50 Cent, Eminem tells listeners "Aftermath 2006! And don't worry about that Detox album. It's coming. We're gonna make Dre do it." On The Documentary track "Higher" from west coast Aftermath Entertainment rapper The Game, during Dre's one line in the song he tells people to 'look out for Detox'. Also, on The Game's underground hit "120 Bars," he tells rival and labelmate 50 Cent, "You're a steroid addict, you need detox. Hopefully you'll make it out in time to be on Detox."
